Ironically this story got past the majority of Slashdot readers who disagree with it, which is, of course, impossible as it needs a majority of votes to make the front page or it gets dumped. I wrote better stuff than that which got dumped and only a few actually got published. But hey if you are a publisher of magazines and books and some new tech like eBook readers is going to compete with you and maybe put you out of business, common sense says convert your magazines and books to eBook format and change your business model and turn all old versions and archives into eBook format and try to profit from it.

Classic management says do a biased scientific report, hire astroturfers to vote it up on Slashdot during a slow news day when Slashdot users are drunk from 4th of July parties or suffering hang overs and go nuts on dupe accounts and vote it up and hope nobody notices it.

Buy hey we got to find a way to plug that Gulf of Mexico oil rig leak eventually how about we just buy out the surplus PC World and other paper stuff nobody wants to buy as this fraud and scam and astroturf is discovered as everyone boycotts the publisher and recycle the paper into a giant maxipad and see if that plugs the leak.
